Outside Classroom Day

To mark outside classroom day P1/2N took their learning outside for the day.  We played phonic games to help to blend sounds, practised essential words, wrote from an insects point of view, had a Gaelic singing lesson, planted vegetables and created some natural art work. Phew – what a fun and busy day!

Mini beast hunting

We had a great time on Wednesday when Michelle Melville, a countryside ranger, visited our class and we went mini beast hunting and pond dipping in the school playground.  We found lots of different creatures such as cut worms, snails, centipedes and Callan even caught a butterfly!

Mòd assembly

This morning we had some visitors in to tell us all about the Royal National Mòd. This year it is going to be held in Fort William in October. We were treated to some tunes, songs and stories and are very excited about the upcoming event.

Fractions Pizza Party!

P1/2N held a pizza party on Friday afternoon to share their learning about fractions with parents and grandparents.  The children made their own individual pizza and were then challenged by parents to apply and explain their knowledge of fractions by cutting their pizza using a set of questions.  A great afternoon of learning and fun!
