Bee Keeper Visit
We were very lucky to have a visit from Lochaber Bee Keeping Association to talk to us about Honey Bees. We learned about their society, how they work together in their colonies and their specific job roles. It was a very hands on experience and we got to touch a dead bee and hold a variety of objects used for keeping bees, including tools and some honey comb. A lucky pupil from each class was picked to try on the Bee Keepers outfit, which was very warm especially with the veil. There was also a colony of bees inside a special carrying tank so we could observe them busy at work, the Queen Bee has a white spot on her back – see if you can spot her.
