Lundavra Eco Committee in Action

One of our Eco Committee’s aims this year is to reduce electricity use in the school. These posters are the start of our campaign.  Each teacher has been given one of these persuasive posters.

Eco Week

Eco Night at Lundavra

Friday’s Eco Night was a huge success, with a fantastic number of parents and children coming to help us clear up our planters and some of the school grounds.  We hope you all had a good night and we all really appreciate your help.    

Egg-Mobile Challenge and Science Experiment

This week’s challenge was to make an egg-mobile that could transport an egg without being broken. There were some very creative entries! We have also started growing lettuce which is starting to sprout!

Shoreline Trip

This morning Primary 5 went down to the shoreline to carry out a beach clean and some other Easter themed activities. They rolled boiled eggs which they had decorated and did an egg and spoon race. They also did a scavenger hunt finding lots of interesting things on the beach.

Harvest time

Over the past couple of weeks, the classes have been harvesting what they have grown in their planters and been putting the produce to good use.  Here are just a few of the pictures classes have taken.

Eco Committee COP26 Challenge

Easter Egg Hunt

Our Primary 6 and 7 Eco Committee members are organising an Easter egg hunt for the last day of term. All of the money raised will go towards supporting our Eco Committee’s exciting plans for next term. Thank you to our Primary 6 Eco Committe members for making the poster below.

P1/2 are getting ready for planting.

When the new planters are ready, P1/2 want to grow flowers which can then he harvested for different purposes in the school and the wider community . We are really looking forward to when we can plant them out and to watch them grow over the next term.
